On May 15, 2019, a selection of the best industrial engineering students from the University of Bologna takes part in a special tour of the infrastructures devoted to the international distribution of Italian wine in Livorno thanks to the collaboration of Giorgio Gori Group, a leading company providing logistic services for wine supply chain worldwide, and the Food Supply Chain Center at UniBO.
The tour consists in three visits:
- meeting in Interporto Amerigo Vespucci. Rocco Guido Nastasi, president of the company illustrates the history, the services and performance of the growing interporto system and infrastructures
2. visit of Giorgio Gori DC for the storage of Italian wine to be shipped all over the world
The students of the course of Logistics (professor Riccardo Manzini) have the unique opportunity to visit one of the largest distribution center of wine all over the world. This is one of the DCs of Giorgio Gori Group. Wines coming from hundreds of producers are handled, stored and retrieved to be shipped for international destinations.
Special guide in the DC visit is Dr. Nino Angelo Caponi, the chairman of Giorgio Gori and Dr.Diego Gallo, Italy sales manager.
3. visit of the port terminal Lorenzini & C, operator in the port of Livorno.
