Inauguration of the new production plant – CUCE for CAMST in Parma

The CUCE of the future

In April 2019, the new production plant of CAMST located in Vicofertile (Parma) has been inaugurated.

Camst is the Italian leading company in the production and distribution of food catering products in agreement th different production processes and technologies. This is the “CUCE of the future”, the result of an innovative project of design, planning and configuration of advanced and centralized production systems of food products. The process of design and optimization of the plant in Vicofertile has been conducted thanks to the development of innovative models, methods and supporting decision tools (including decision support system – DSS, expert systems and software). The group of research of the Food Supply Chain Center in collaboration with the R&D in Camst faced the large complexity of such decisional issues involving simultaneously the layout decisions, the operational decisions, the logistic decisions, the environmental impacts, the safety issues, new and existing technologies, automation solutions, robotics and material handling, machine selection, etc.
